Last year, while accepting her second Golden Globes victory,Bassett wore a silver Pamella Roland halter-neck gown. Stylist Austin paired the gown with Sarah Flint shoes and Chopard jewelry.

While winning her first Golden Globes trophy in 1994 for portraying Tina Turner inWhat’s Love Got to Do with It, she wore a another black gown — a satin-finish dress with a velvet shawl.

In 2023 during her best supporting actress speech, Bassett remembered the year fondly.

“Jan. 22, 1994, I stood on this stage and accepted the Golden Globe forWhat’s Love Got to Do with It. The late Toni Morrison said, ‘Your life is already a miracle of chance just waiting for you to order its destiny.’ In order for the destiny to manifest I think that it requires courage to have faith, it requires patience and it requires a true sense of yourself. By the grace of God I stand here. I stand here grateful for the Hollywood Foreign Press for giving me this honor along withWakanda Forever.”
