Ben Wilson , a British artist , paints tiny short paintings on the chew gum that mutilate the sidewalk of London . He transform those black and hoary blob into delicious , colorful and meaningful works of art .
Wilson , who ’s been doing this for six years , has a specific proficiency in painting the harden gum . The NY Times detail his procedure :
He softens the gum with a torch , spray it with lacquer and then enforce three coat of acrylic enamel . He utilise tiny brush , promptly - drying his piece of work with a calorie-free as he goes along , and then seals it with clean lacquer .

Each of his miniature painting can take anywhere from a few hour to a few day to discharge . And once land up , the gum art could potentially last geezerhood and years if condition are right ( atmospheric condition , repaving , etc . ) .
When I walk to work , I see hundreds of drab black glue pit the sidewalk — like a pockmarked rite for any big metropolis . I think what Wilson is doing — re - dressing them in skittle - like colour — is a howling melodic theme . Can we slip him for New York ? [ NY Times , Photo Credit : Andrew Testa / NYT ]
