The time has come in for Thanos , the big bad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe , to fully enroll the scene . In Avengers : Infinity War , Josh Brolin ’s villain will be after the Infinity Stones , and if he wants them , he ’s going to have to steal them .
That data comes straight off from the Russo Brothers , who are direct the movie , courtesy of an interview onCNet . When asked about the Russos ’ penchant for playing with writing style , Anthony enjoin this about the upcoming third Avengers movie :
With “ Infinity War , ” the big unexampled element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he ’s enter the storytelling in a very sheer , strong way , to the level that he ’s almost one of the lead . We ’ve mould an interesting tale around him that in some ways list heavily on a heist pic in the fact that he ’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder , successful way than he has in the past tense . The entire flick has that energy of the bad guy being one step out front of the hoagy . Now that is an interesting mind . The Russo Brothers have already proven they have the chop for that sort of experiment . Though , if Thanos is going to steal the Infinity Stones and sit a real threat to the galaxy ( and he will , because that ’s how drama works , but let ’s pretend for a second ) , he ’s going to have his occupation cut out for him . There are six Infinity Stones — ancient artifacts that , when combined together , render ultimate baron — and Thanos does n’t have any of them . If he wants this heist to work out , he ’s going to have to get planning .
First off , there ’s the Space Stone , aka the Tesseract . The first Infinity Stone seen in the MCU , it was in the hands of humans on Earth for a thousand years , recovered from HYDRA by S.H.I.E.L.D in World War II . After the events of the first Avengers film , it was returned to in Asgard by Thor . What precisely do of the stone after Thor : Ragnarok , we wo n’t spoil just yet , but the Infinity War trailerMarvel was showing this summertime show Loki in monomania of the stone … and he was handing it to someone marvellous . peradventure Thanos wo n’t have to steal this one at all .
Next up is The Aether , aka the Reality Stone . If Ragnarok does n’t shed any light on the issue , then hunting it down will in all likelihood be a major labor for Thanos in Infinity War . One interesting possibility : Wakanda . Black Panther is the only Marvel moving-picture show come out between now and Infinity War , and it ’d be a handy way to draw that movie into the big dispute forward . And it ’d give Thanos a heckuva challenge , that ’s for sure .
