If you thought the first footage fromNetflix ’s Cowboy Bebopadaptation was pass to bea normal look at the show , well … we ’ve have some news for you , Bounty Hunters .
In position of an actual prevue featuring footage of the live - action series , our first properlook at the starsof the remake of Shinichirō Watanabe ’s beloved sci - fi anime from Netflix just dropped in the contour of “ The Lost Session . ” Instead of just teasing the show , the original myopic introduces us to Spike Spiegel ( John Cho ) , Jet Black ( Mustafa Shakir ) , and Faye Valentine ( Daniella Pineda ) as they go on a brief slip to eat noodles , tick up bad guy rope , and incidentally … well , watch and find out .
It ’s certainly a playful tone at the series , trading anything of special note about the show as we ’ll eventually see it for some cute banter , playfulness fight — Cho wield a stave against some thugs definitely has the same vibes as that excellent Scots heather fight from Cowboy Bebop : the Movie — some hints for the future in the form of Spike ’s nemesis Vicious ( Alex Hassell ) , and some metatextual nods to the black - barricade stylisation of the anime andthe series ’ , opening title . Plus , it ’s get Tank ! , because what else would you soundtrack a Bebop short to ? If this is the kind of pure tone the series is aiming for , it ’s for sure a very cheeky way of designate off our crew of ramshackle heroes … although we for certain could ’ve done witha lot more Ein , andsome Ed for good measurewhile we ’re at it .

But alas , it seems like we ’re sound to have to expect until much closer to the series ’ release to get a proper glimpse of it . At least we do n’t have long to go : Cowboy Bebop hits Netflix one calendar month from now , on November 19 , and if you ’re itching for some activeness in the meanwhile , theoriginal anime itself begins streamingon the service from October 21 .
