DC Is Planning a Sitcom That’s “The Officewith Superheroes”

At this point the annunciation of yet another comic - ground television receiver series is barely news at all , but this one is a little dissimilar : DC and NBC are work on a pilot for Powerless , a proposed situation comedy lay out in the DC universethat ’s being pitch as “ The Office , but with superheroes . ”

All we know so far is that it ’s a half - hour comedy set at an insurance office , and rather than featuring big - name heroes like Superman and Batman , it ’ll focus on ordinary hoi polloi last in a superhero world .

The “ policy agency dealing with superheroes ” concept recalls comic like Marvel ’s Damage Control ( where the work was a mental synthesis / cleanup crowd ) and the recent runs of She - Hulk ( where it was a law office ) , and it seems like a good fit for the situation comedy formatting . On the other hand , bad superhero clowning tend to be really bad . ( My Super Ex - Girlfriend , anyone ? ) Either way , Batman V Superman should forget enough rubble to keep every insurance policy company in the DC universe engaged .
