Selaginella lepidophylla is a desert moss that forms Russian tumbleweed , curling in on itself in the absence of water . When it eventually become a drink , it unfurls back to its normal shape , as this timelapse video recording captures .
It took around 12 - 24 hours for the full cps . I shoot this over the class of 3 - 4 weeks , get it soak then drying it out again and part over .
Unsurprisingly , the flora has anumber of nickname , some of which play on its amazing endurance skill : pretended rose of Jericho , surface of Jericho , resurrection plant , resurrection moss , dinosaur plant , siempre viva , stone flower , and doradilla . Rose of Jericho is the one that titles this television .
