Robots automaton robots … fromsexyones tofightingones , we love them here at Giz . But this amazing project by Matt Denton over atRobosavvyhas me in two minds . It ’s a modified DIY hexapod golem with a motorised Dremel - tool nose , and Matt ’s written some code that lets the golem move the thinning tool with precision , so it acts like a little precision CNC mill . And it ’s awful : wait til you see the video of it in activity , carving out a modeling . But is this project a shivery pace towards ego - replicating ‘ bots ?

Matt ’s achieved such preciseness in such a curt time of working on this labor , I ca n’t aid but wonder about it . bet at that automatic femur — it ’s just polystyrene , but for certain this is step one on the road to alloy - cutting ego - replicating golem ? The cerebration of one of these , armed with that eerie - sound cutting putz , throw out across the trading floor towards me is a real heebie - jeebie inducer …

Just kid , of course of instruction . As long as it does n’t choose to recast anyone ’s grimace with that Dremel pinnace , it ’s a pretty nerveless project . [ Project pageviaRobosavvy — Thanks Limor ]
