Man , I do n’t even know where to start with this film . Released in 2009 , Dogtooth is a Greek cinema , so get ready for subtitles , but there ’s so , so much more you also need to make yourself for .
The canonical premise is that a mother and a father be with their grow children , two lady friend and a boy , in an isolated chemical compound . Over the class , the parent have taught their kids all these inexplicably bizarre falsehoods , like that planes flying overhead are really toys , or that their unobserved ( in all probability non - actual ) brother just beyond the compound walls was mauled to death by a cat , and that for fend it off , they need to get on all fours and barque like dogs . At one head , the father brings home a blindfolded female coworker , for sexual purposes , and then things just get weirder from there .
The plot is one affair ( i.e. insane ) but the really compelling — and equally disturbing — affair about this movie is the ambience . For this one home , the whole world is upside down and you never have intercourse why . matter just keep stray inevitably , terrifyingly forward , governed by this apparently random , villainous logical system . It ’s an aroused exercise just to get through , but its hard to look aside . You ’ve probably never come across anything quite like it . If you ’re up for experience ( I recollect I ’ve adequately warned you ) you canwatch it on Netflix Instant . And then you may sit there and wonder what the hell just pass . [ Netflix ]
