Two twelvemonth ago , basically no one outside of diehard comic strip fans knew who the Guardians of the Galaxy were . Flash forward to now , each extremity of the movie ’s team is starring in their own comic Word series , include Drax .
Announced at C2E2 over the weekend , Drax will be the character ’s first ever standalone series since the character was introduced in 1973 , and sees the Destroyer expend his downtime from contend alongside the Guardians to go on personal conflict across the galaxy to testify that he ’s the capital fighter in the Marvel Cosmic .
The serial publication is also a first for its writer , former matman / coming UFC fighter CM Punk — Punk has written several one - off comic level before , including a level in Thor Annual # 1 and Vertigo ’s Strange Sports Stories , but Drax will be his first endeavour at writing an on-going comic book serial . Details other than that are scarce — neither Punk ’s Colorado - writer or the artist for the series have been reveal yet , other than the fact that Ed McGuinness has drawn the back for the first government issue . Check it out in full :

As I mentioned earlier , the release of Drax mean that each Guardian from the picture show now has their own ongoing laughable serial :
Legendary Star - Lord ( in which Peter Quill has even adoptedhis movie costume )
Rocket Raccoon

Groot
The coming Gamora series written by Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel film writer Nicole Perlman
Not bad for a cast of type the mainstream populace had no thought existed just a few age ago , eh ? Drax # 1 will launch later this winter .
