Thanks to her star theatrical role in Wonder Woman , Gal Gadot has rocketed to the office of fandom ikon . But if it were n’t for Charlize Theron being such an first-class actress , she might have get there a piffling sooner .
On a podcast with The Hollywood Reporter , the actress and former Miss Israel recite THR that she had previously been up for the role of Furiosa in Mad Max : Fury Road , only to lose out to Theron .
“ I was offset - up for Mad Max with Charlize . I had so many almosts for big , great things , but I was never big enough of a name , ” Gadot said . “ It was always me and ‘ the big name . ’ ”
According to Gadot , the frustration of never quite getting the large role was such that she had thought of giving up playing before being cast as Wonder Woman by Warner Bros.
Funnily enough , this is n’t the only connexion the Mad Max enfranchisement has to marvel Woman . Back in the twenty-four hour period , George Miller , who directed all the Mad Max titles , was at one peak influence on a Justice League movie , withactress Megan Gale ( who plays Valkyrie in Fury Road ) as Wonder Woman .
Fortunately for Gadot , missing out on the succeeder of the Mad Max franchise did n’t keep her from act as , and everything passably much mould out for everyone . Though I ’d definitely like to get a peep at her alternative universe edition of Fury Road .
