“ We simplify the main brand icon by removing the shadows , refining the ratio and lighten up the coloring , to align with Google ’s more modern mark expression , ” Elvinwrote on Twitter . “ [ W]e also found that commit certain shades of greenish and carmine next to each other make an unpleasant colour quiver , so we introduced a very subtle gradient to the master icon to mitigate that , making the icon more approachable . ”

According to Elvin , there will be specific versions of Chrome ’s unexampled icon for each operating system . For Windows , the icon will have a gradated look , but it will sport undimmed color with no gradient on Chrome OS . Meanwhile , for the Mac common people , the icon will look 3D. Chrome ’s other apps , Beta and Dev , have also get a refresh .
Google was n’t close to produce a Chrome icon that was more different than the one they settled on , though . Elvin said the squad deal creating an ikon with more negative white space but decided against it because it shrunk the picture and made it difficult to identify alongside other Google apps .
