Rebekah holds a gaggle of our master characters hostage in the high school subroutine library and strength Stefan and Elena to march their feelings — which is commodious , since that ’s what the show necessitate them to do anyway , at this point . But mostly Rebekah is just hear to torture the gang emotionally , before Kol go off to torment Professor Shane physically . And eventually , we get the point of all this — Rebekah feels like she ’s suffered 900 year of non - stop betrayal at the hands of the people she loves , and so she wants Stefan and Elena to feel the same fashion . And Rebekah does seem to get some catharsis out of all this — plus it ’s healthy on some stage for Stefan and Elena . I infer .

Elena at long last give a rationale for why she ’s in love with Damon and not Stefan : Stefan sees her as “ broken ” and a problem , in want of being situate . Shane enjoys being malefic so much — or is such a wacky fanatic — that he just ca n’t help share . And I really really want to see how the rest period of his conversation with Bonnie proceed at the end of the episode , where he starts to recite her that she ’s vitally important to everything . How does she not immediately expect exactly what it is that she ’s vitally authoritative to ?
And finally …
Do n’t take on your loved 1 ’ sense of guilt , when you could show you care about them in other ways
Damon ’s principal difference of opinion in the episode is that he wants to deform Jeremy into a lamia hunter the right way — by having him bolt down actual vampires . But Jeremy ’s nowhere near quick to take on substantial vampires ( despite having arms like three normal people ’s legs glue together ) and the clock is tick . And there ’s not a “ training montage ” in sight . Klaus is putting pressure on Damon to just take the easy option , turning random masses into vampires for Jeremy to stamp out en masse shot . But Damon resists , because he knows Jeremy will palpate regretful about mangle a slew of innocent lately - ex - masses . And he knows Elena will finger sad if he turns Jeremy into a multitude murderer . Until Elena assure Damon she loves him and she really does n’t think it ’s just the sire bond — and suddenly , Damon is motivate to do whatever it takes to get the cure for Elena , while he ’s go back on his hope to Muppet Angel and boinking her some more . Cue a great bluesy successiveness where Damon facilitate Klaus cue up a bar full of newbie vampires for Jeremy to slaughter .
Because , you know , sharing is psychotherapeutic — but worrying about other citizenry ’s guilty conscience is just go to make everything go down on . So to speak .
