Melissa McCarthychose quite the hare-raising ensemble as she presented at the2019 Oscars.

Taking the stage Sunday evening alongsideBrian Tyree Henryto hand out the award for Best Costume Design, the actress proved that although she may be nominated for Best Actress for her dramatic turn inCan You Ever Forgive Me?, her comedic chops haven’t dulled a bit.

McCarthy, 48, kept a straight face the entire time as she walked out on stage in an outfit that — in a nod to nominated filmTheFavourite— any animal-loving queen would envy.

Topped off with a wide-brim white hat, McCarthy wore an over-the-top multicolored dress with pants underneath and white boots, boasting a frilly royal-style collar around her neck.

The crowning details? Dozens of plush bunnies (which feature prominently inThe Favourite) covered her entire look, from the front of her ensemble all the way down her long fur train. She even used one of the stuffed animals as a puppet, making it “talk” as she discussed the importance of recognizing costume designers and their “subtlest” work.

Earlier in the evening, McCarthy wowed on the red carpet, wearing a chic black-and-white pantsuit — which received heaps of praise from her fellow Best Actress nomineeGlenn Close.

Close opened her eyes wide before turning her head and gave McCarthy an approving side-eye and finally looked up and closed her eyes, seemingly in pure joy.

Porter also mentioned to McCarthy that he’d heard she planned to use her Oscar as a door knocker if she took the trophy home.

“So thedoor-knocker thing, if you win an Oscar: For real, girl? That’s a heavy door knocker!” Porter said.

“I’m gonna get a bigger door!” McCarthy jokingly replied.
