Jeopardy!is in need of a new permanent host — andRuPaulhas playfully thrown his name into the mix.

While guest-hostingJimmy Kimmel Live!Wednesday, RuPaul addressedJeopardy!executive producerMike Richardsrecentlystepping down as hostamid a series of scandals.

“And finally,Jeopardy!is still seeking a new host after producer Mike Richards stepped away from the job last week,” said theRuPaul’s Drag Racestar, 60, duriing a segment called “Gayer News.”

“Sources say the show is looking for someone with poise, authority and natural intelligence. In gayer news, I’m right here, bitch!” he joked.

Months after longtimeJeopardy!hostAlex Trebekdied in November 2020, the search for his replacement commenced. Stars includingLeVar Burton,Aaron Rodgers,Robin RobertsandKatie Couricstepped in to guest-host the series, but Richardswas announced as the permanent hostof the daily syndicated series on Aug. 11.

According to aNew York Timesreport published Wednesday, Richards willparticipate in sensitivity trainingas he resumes working onJeopardy!as an executive producer.

Big Bang Theoryalum and neuroscientistMayim Bialikwill fill in asthe show’s interim host. Bialik, 45, was previously announced as the host ofJeopardy!primetime and spinoff series, includingJeopardy! National College Championship, an all-new tournament which will air in primetime on ABC in 2022.

With production resuming this week, Bialik will begin filming three weeks ofJeopardy!episodes.Jeopardy!will tap additional guest hosts for the show’s 38th season, premiering Sep. 13.
